D.U May Soon Adopt Lottery System for Seats 2013-14 Academic Session

May 7, 2013 19:13 IST

One of the best colleges of Delhi University may soon adopt a lottery system for admissions for the academic session 2013-14. The Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) may soon do that, but it however needs to be first approved by the Delhi University.

Apparently, the college plans to conduct a lottery for admissions once the cut off marks are declared. As per some sources, in case the University approves the proposal, it will be applicable to all the colleges. This change will have to be made in all the colleges and not in isolation.

SRCC sent the proposal to the University along side with the additional eligibility criteria that would be printed in the annual information bulletin.

The college wants to offer an equal opportunity to students from all streams seeking admission in economics this year. Earlier, students from humanities, commerce and science streams had different cut-offs. In 2013, the cut-offs for all streams will be the same.
