In a bid to help the students who belong to financially weaker sections of the society, Delhi University has decided to provide coaching classes to them before the entrance tests for post graduation courses happen.
The classes will be held for following subjects:
The forms for the same can be collected and submitted outside SGTB Khalsa College between Wednesday May 31 to Monday June 5 from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm (Sunday closed). The fee for registration would be Rs 100. The duration of the classes would be two weeks and the list of candidates, selected on first come first serve basis, for the free classes will be announced tomorrow, June 6.
Tentative dates of start of the classes: 07.06.2017 for English and Law and 09.06.2017 for Mathematics, Physics and Zoology. The Pre-Entrance classes for all the disciplines will be held in the DU North Campus. And the time & venues will be notified in due course.
Admission through ECA quota
The students who have been active in extra-curricular activities during their time in college have a chance to be eligible for admission, at the cut-off lower by 15 per cent lower than that for other students.
In order to be eligible for ECA trials, students don't even need a certificate of the event. They can just submit a letter signed by the principal of their college stating their participation. The idea is to maximize the participation and help as many students as possible who don't have a very good percentage in class 12 but are talented in extra-curricular activities.
Admission to School Of Open Learning
The admission process for distance courses at School Of Open Learning (SOL) at Delhi University started on June 1 and the students can easily get themselves registered for the same. Last year some 49,000 students had applied online to SOL by 21st July, 2016. The institution has also seen a steady rise in the number of applications each year.
Admission to Delhi College of Art to start today
June 5, 2017 will mark the start of admission to Delhi College of Art for BA and MA courses and along with a diploma and post-graduation diploma in fine arts for the hearing and speech impaired.
