Aiming at unlimited participation and enabling availability of course programs to a wide number of students globally at free of cost, Delhi University (DU) has decided to launch Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) towards the end of this month. The objective of MOCC is to provide a base for pursuing quality courses through internet.
Under the aegis of the Government initiative “Swayam” (Study Webs of Active-learning for Young Aspiring Minds) many top notch Indian Universities have already begun offering online courses, DU being the recent one.
The sole aim of initiating these courses is to amalgamate technology and its effectiveness with the education sector of the nation. Further it also aims to provide a global platform to other citizens as well. The course has been designed to highlight the historical landmarks and milestones of modern India. It will be accessible to the members of DU community through the varsity’s network.
The first phase of MOOC will start from 30 January 2015 at Aryhabhatta College, Maharaja Agrasen College, IP College for Women and Keshav Mahavidyalya. Intake of students for these courses will commence soon.
