With Delhi University gaming for some serious transformation, the School of Open Studies (SOL) Delhi University seems to be untouched by all of it.
Delhi University hit the ‘Semester system’ format in 2012, and now has come up with the four year tenure for undergraduate studies for students.
Apparently , while the whole semester-isation was in the process, the SOL administration had written to the University , asking them to include the SOL in the scheme of all changes, however the university has kept the SOL out of the major changes, considering the size and shape of the Open school.
At present, all the colleges under the jurisdiction of Delhi University will be offering interdisciplinary and flexible degree, while SOL will continue to function in an annual mode and offer a three-year degree.
The main issue is that SOL helps a lot of working executive go in for graduate studies, examinations twice in a year could pose in as an issue for them. With SOL standing a different orbit all together, they would have to wait to be included for a little longer, as the priority right now is to get the University settled in its new changes.
