Theresa May, Home Secretary of UK is planning to show no cooperation to foreign students who are studying in UK. As, with new immigration plans May decided to send the foreign students to send back to their home countries as soon as they finish their course in UK.
Theresa is all set to abide ‘move towards zero net student migration’ as per which students will have to apply for a fresh visa from their home countries after they go back from UK finishing their course.
Under current rules, most students switch easily to a work visa from within the UK rather than have to leave the country and then come back.
As per the new plan, the colleges and universities that sponsor foreign students will be responsible for ensuring their departure.
May wants to be able to fine colleges and universities with low departure rates and deprive the worst of them of their right to sponsor foreign students.
But according to sources, this might decrease the enrollment rate to UK Universities which will be ultimately a loss for them.
