Soon, there would be Chromebook laptops in every school in India, as Google in planning to launch them all over the country. The global technology giant is planning to widen the education system and its model to turn it into Hi-Tech teaching module. Presently Google is in primary talks with the Arunachal Pradesh government, where they are planning to launch their pilot of launching chromebooks in schools. The company is also discussing the same with other states as well. Itanagar and Ziro are the two places where the pilot is supposed to be beginning already.
According to Google Global Production Manager Chrome OS, Smita Hashim, “We are in discussion with Arunachal Pradesh for giving Chromebooks to students as part of our focus on the education sector. Chromebooks along with Google Apps for Education can play an important role in helping students create, collaborate and learn.” The chromebooks could get managed by administrators, as they could manage the same with the help of Chromebook Management Console, that too with the help of a simple phone or computer. It has the potential to cut down the school maintenance charges and various other software costs of the schools and at the same time enable students to get model education.
Google has also announced the Chromebook in Indian marketing and has targeted majorly the education sector in India. The Chromebooks would be up for sale in various online sellers very soon within a range of Rs. 13,000 from various companies in the Indian market.
