Government has pulled up its socks and is consciously working towards its aim of refining of teacher education in our country, so that they can give out the same to their students and in the same order this will boost the Educational standards of our nation.
Following the aim, government has announced for setting up of 30 'schools of education' and 50 'centers of excellence' under Rs 900 crore mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Five centers for academic leadership and education management and a national resource centre for education are also mooted under the mission.
Two inter-university centers for teacher education are also proposed under the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Training, the first of which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Benaras Hindu University campus yesterday.
The mission envisages addressing comprehensively all issues related to teachers, teaching, teacher preparation, professional development, curriculum design, designing and developing assessment and evaluation methodology, research in pedagogy and developing effective Pedagogy.
It proposes to fill a critical gap in addressing the issue of quality of teaching in the education sector.
