To get a government job in the area of Food Technology a candidate needs to have qualified bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in areas of Food Technology or Food Technology and Management, Food Science and Technology, Food Process Engineering, Dairy Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agriculture and Food Engineering, Dairy and Food Engineering from a recognized university or educational institution. For senior positions, master’s degree in Food Technology or related field is required. While, for faculty position at Food Technology education institutions, Ph.D in related field is must.

Age Limit for Food Technology

To junior level position in the area of Food Technology a candidate’s age must fall into the range of 21 years to 32 years while for senior level positions, the upper age limit could be 40 years or more. The reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/ExSM) candidates get relaxation in upper age limit according to the rules laid down by the Government.

Selection Process for Food Technology

The selection of candidates for the various posts in the area of Food Technology differ level of post for appointment. Usually, candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the Academic Records, Written Exam and Personal Interview. Candidates could be selected on the basis of Academic Records and Personal Interview if the appointment is to be done on contract basis.

Salary Structure of Food Technology

In state government departments and organizations, salary could be according to the Pay-Band implemented in the State for the food technology positions.
