Government of India to offer Scholarship to Sri Lankan Students

Government of India has offered a total of 180 scholarships to meritorious Sri Lankan students for all courses except medicine.

Government of India has offered a total of 180 scholarships to meritorious Sri Lankan students. The scholarship would cover everything including the full tuition fee, an annual grant for books and stationary, a monthly sustenance allowance and an accommodation allowance. The scholarship is being provided for all courses except medicine. The ICCR candidates are also provided besides the above; full healthcare facilities, air fare to the nearest destination in India and an annual grant for educational tours to various parts of the country, apart from several other auxiliary benefits.

Leading universities of India are participating in the scholarship program for undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D. degrees. The Sri Lanka Ministry of Higher Education will do the Selection of candidates to pursue higher studies including research in some of the topmost universities in India.

Various schemes like- Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme, Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme and Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme have offered scholarships incorporating courses like- Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities, Arts, Agriculture, and Information Technology and for Masters and PhD Degrees in all subjects except Medicine.
