Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has recently decided to make the mention of Aadhar card numbers mandatory for the class X and XII board students in their examination forms. This is expected to bring down cases of cheating and misconduct during the board exams.
According to the new rule, the candidates would have to write their Aadhar card number on their respective board examination forms, which would provide a column for the same. The candidates would also have to bring their Aadhar cards at the respective examination centre, in order to be able to get into the examination hall and give their examination.
The schools have been asked to make sure that all the students in their respective schools have their Aadhar cards before the examination. Those students, who do not have Aadhar cards should get one soon. The board has also directed the schools to organize camps within the school premises in order to make sure that the students of the schools could make their Aadhar cards efficiently and easily.
The examination secretary of GSHSEB, R I Patel has mentioned that the new rules would be implied to the students who are submitting their forms in the month of September this year. Hence, the students who do not have their Aadhar cards must make it quick.
He further mentioned that the rush in making Aadhar available to all the students is due to facilitating scholarship application for the students in future. The government has decided to allow scholarships and provide benefits of government schemes to candidates only if they have their Aadhar card made.
