Haryana schools will get to learn subjects like Yog Vidya, Sanskrit and Bhagavad Gita from the next academic session. The initiative started by Haryana Government to include Bhagavad Gita as a part of school curriculum will help the students to know the origin of their country. These new subject will be taught from Class V to Class XII.
An action plan will be provided by SCERT (State Council of Education Research and Training) which is an advisory body on education to Haryana Education Minister for Haryana Schools, Ram Bilas Sharma. SCERT will finalize the content for the state school textbooks.
As per Dinanath Batra, part of the Haryana government advisory board, “Teaching students in Yog mudra, making them learn Bhagavad Gita will make students get closer to the roots of India and its culture."
