Necessary steps are being taken for modernizing and strengthening Madrasas by the HRD Ministry. Special emphasis is being laid to uplift them too, Smriti Irani said at a function at the Jamia Milia Islamia University.
Addressing a national symposium at the University the HRD Minister also discussed on the importance of character building in education and laid emphasis on it. She also said that no field of education is complete without the building of character and a strong sense of service to the under-privileged and the motherland.
The National Symposium on “Educating and Mainstreaming of Indian Muslims” was presided over by Jamia Vice Chancellor Talat Ahmad. Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Zafar Sareshwala was also a prominent figure among the guest invitees.
