IBPS has conducted the RRB Officer Scale I preliminary examination on 4th November 2016. The exam was conducted for 80 marks comprised of 80 questions with a time of 45 minutes. This is the first time IBPS is conducting prelims for recruitment of officers in RRB with a new pattern.

Pattern of Examination: The examination has 2 sections – Reasoning and Quantitative aptitude. The examination was objective type test.  Candidates shall be required to qualify in each section as per cut-off marks determined on the basis of performance in each section and also on total weighted score. Negative marking is applicable for the Objective Test. For every wrong answer, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Analysis of Examination: The overall difficulty level of the examination was Easy to Moderate.

Note: The candidates should note that the above cut offs may vary as it depends upon various factors hence, it is not possible to predict the exact cut off marks until IBPS declared it on its website. The IBPS will announce cut off marks, when the process of selection is over.
