    What is the IBSAT MBA entrance exam?

    IBSAT is an MBA entrance exam that is conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (a deemed to be University). The test is used to screen MBA aspirants for admission to MBA/PGPM programmes at 9 campuses of the ICFAI Business School (IBS). Currently, IBS offers3 major management programmes at its various campuses:

    Who can appear for the IBSAT MBA exam?

    ICFAI Foundation has put forth, three key eligibility conditions for MBA aspirants planning to appear for the IBSAT exam.

    1. Academic Eligibility: Candidate must hold a valid Graduation degree in any discipline with average aggregate 50% marks and above. Candidates in their final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply.

    2. Period of Study: Candidates applying for IBSAT must have completed 15 years of formal education i.e. 10+2+3 mode or 10+2+4 mode.

    3. Study Medium / Language: Candidates applying for IBSAT must have completed their studies till Graduation with English as medium of instruction. Alternatively, candidates who have other language as their medium of study have to submit the TOEFL/NELT/IELTS score as part of their application process.

    IBSAT MBA Exam Pattern

    IBSAT is a computer-based online exam. The exam duration is of 2 hours in which candidates have to answer 140 multiple choice questions from four key sections. The Verbal Ability section consists of 50 questions while the rest of the three sections i.e. Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Adequacy & Interpretation, consist of 30 questions each. The difficulty level of the questions in all the four sections is moderate. There is no sectional time limit for IBSAT, which means that candidates can move from one section to another as per their choice. As far as marking scheme is concerned, each correct answer will fetch +1 mark while there is no negative marking for IBSAT.

    IBSAT MBA Exam Schedule

    Generally, the IBSAT MBA Exam notification is released in the month of July followed by the start of the online registration process. The online registration continues until the 2nd Week of December. The IBSAT Exam is conducted in the 3rd Week of December and the result is declared in the 1st Week of January. The further rounds of selection process are held at 40 different locations across India from the 3rd Week of February onwards.
