Registration for the first batch of IIM Gaya students, which would start from the 24 August, has been done and the much awaited beginning of the prestigious business school in Bihar is about to take place. The institute will initially begin from the Directorate of Distance Education Building in the Magadh University premises as temporary campus. It would then shift to its already committed 119 acre land by the Government of Bihar for the IIM campus. Provided everything goes right, the new campus would be fully functional in the next three years.
Director of Distance Education of MU, Israil Khan has said that the registration process will begin from Monday and the students in the first batch will be inducted on 25 August. For the next few days, the students who have registered themselves in the newly introduced business school in Bihar, would undergo the requirements, culture, infrastructure, facilities and explore the institute. Classes would begin for the academic year on 31 August 2015.
The university guest house has arranged five rooms exclusively for the faculty members and guest house of the university has been booked for the institute faculties. For general category, the admission committee fixed CAT score to be 96.30. For OBC candidates it was set to be 78.98 and for SC and ST it was fixed respectively at 63 and 50.71. According to sources there would be another round of counseling that would take place for the remaining 30 seats to be filled. This is not new in the history of new IIMs launched, as all the other institutes had to face the same crunch at the very onset of their terms.
