‘e-Shikshanam’, an Online Teacher Training program has been launched by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in collaboration with Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA). The main purpose of this program is to provide remedial support to children with specific learning difficulties. In this Online Teacher Training program, training will be provided teachers and stakeholders work with a child with Dyslexia. The course is open to Primary School Teachers (up to class 5) across the country.
Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras, launched the course at the campus today (25th April 2019) in the presence of Mahesh Panchagnula, Dean (International and Alumni Relations), IIT Madras, Andrew Thangaraj, NPTEL Coordinator, IIT Madras, R. Nagarajan, Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras, and representatives from MDA.
Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA) is a non-profit service organization established to take a pragmatic approach to helping children with "Dyslexia". MDA has been functioning for the past two decades in providing remedial help and support to these children, their parents, as well as spreading awareness to the community at large, helping schools set up resource rooms and conducting teacher training programmes.
