Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Bangalore has collaborated for a major research development programme with a French company Safran that deals with defence, security and aero engine. The alliance was conducted on Wednesday, 29 October at the French Embassy in New Delhi. The collaboration will help in creating a field of advanced avionics system for development of next generation aerospace technologies.
The funding that will come up from this collaboration will be used in the Electrical Engineering Department of IIT, says Dr. A. Wali, Managing Director of IIT-Delhi’s Institute’s Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer. As per Alain Coutrot, Deputy Director, Research & Technology, “The IIT-Delhi will be collaborating with us for developing an advanced machine learning module for use in aerospace related applications.”
The signing up will help India to get a platform in France in Science and Engineering field. Apart from this, Safran will also be getting attached with IISC, Bangalore where there will be development of an advanced platform of computing that will be used in next generation avionics applications.
