Indian Air Force Notified for Selection test for recruitment to Group ‘Y’ posts

    Indian Air Force (IAF) invited applications from unmarried male citizens from (Indian and Nepalese) for recruitment as Airmen in Group ‘Y’ (except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF (P) and Musician) Trades. Interested male candidates should appear for the Selection test to be held in April 2014/May 2014 at 9 centers across the country. Interested male candidates should send their applications at the Central Airmen Selection Board till 27 January 2014

    Airmen in Group ‘Y’ (except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF (P) and Musician) Trades

    Pay: During training, a stipend of Rs.8550 per month will be paid.
    On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum scale of pay including DA will be Rs. 19475 per month (approx) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 36784 per month (approx).  

    Eligibility Conditions
    Age Limit: Candidates should be born between 1 February 1994 and 30 November 1997 (both days inclusive).
    Upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years.

    Educational Qualification: Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent in any stream/subjects with English OR Two year Vocational Course duly recognized at par with (10+2) by AIU with English in Vocational Course or in  Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

    Nationality: Male candidates who are resident of India and Nepal

    Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on candidates qualifying the Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Interview, Medical Examination and verification of eligibility.

    The All India Select List (AISL) will be prepared after the completion of Selection Test and displayed at all the Airmen Selection Centres (ASCS) and Indian Air Force Website www.indianairforce.nic.in on 31 October 2014.

    No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in recruitment rally.

    Tenure of Service: Initial period of service would be 20 years which is extendable up to the age of 57 years.

    Training: Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) for 12 weeks at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for Trade Training of specified duration. After successful completion of training, the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their allotted trades.

    How to Apply: Interested candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with attested photocopies of relevant certificates/ marks sheets/documents, three recent passport size colour photographs and One unstamped self addressed white envelope by Ordinary Post only to ‘The President, Central Airmen Selection Board Post Box No. 11807, New Delhi–110010’ so as to reach the Central Airmen Selection Board on or before 27 January 2014.

    On the envelope containing the application candidates should clearly mention:
    (I) "For Group ‘Y’ (Except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF (P) and Musician) Trades”
    (Ii) "Aggregate Percentage of Marks…….…%
    (iii) If the candidate is a “Son of Serving/Discharged/Deceased Officer/Airman/NC (E)/Air Force Unit Cadre Civilian must write only "SOAFP” in RED INK (if applicable).
