Indian Air Force (IAF) invited applications from unmarried male citizens from the designated districts of State of Maharashtra for recruitment as Airmen in Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades. Interested male candidates should attend the Recruitment test to be held in West Bengal from 17 March 2013 to 20 March 2013.

Age Limit: Candidates should be born between 1 January 1992 and 31 March 1996 (both days inclusive).
Pay: During training, a stipend of Rs.8550 per month will be paid.
On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum scale of pay will be Rs.21414 per month (approx) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs.37788 per month (approx).
Educational Qualification: Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with Maths, Physics and English OR 3 years Diploma course in Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology discipline from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.
Height: 152.5 cms.
Chest: Minimum range of expansion is 5 cm.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
Corneal Surgery: (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.

TENURE: Initial period of 20 years extendable upto the age of 57 years.
Training: Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) for 12 weeks at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for Trade Training of specified duration. After successful completion of training, the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their trades.
Selection Procedure: Candidates selection will be based on verification of eligibility, and their qualifying Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Interview, Trade Allocation Test (TAT) and Medical Examination. The Recruitment tests will be conducted between 17 March 2013 and 20 March 2013 from 7am onwards at the Rally Venue.
Certificates / and other required documents will be scrutinized and verified prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain prima-facie eligibility. Detailed verification will be carried out for the candidates qualifying Written Test.
The 60 minute Written test will be of have objective type questions on English, Physics and Mathematics. Question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Candidates are to qualify in each paper separately. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
All candidates who pass the written test will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes.
Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Interview is normally conducted in English.
Candidates who qualify in Interview will undergo Trade Allocation Test (TAT) for bifurcation into Mechanical and Electronic stream. Specific trade allotment within these streams will be carried out at Basic Training Institute (BTI), Air Force Station Belgaum (Karnataka).
Candidates who qualify In the interview will be medically examined. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team.
The All India Select List (AISL), will be displayed at 6 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Cotton Green, Mumbai (Maharashtra)-400 033 on 30 April 2013. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate Nagpur, Maharashtra through Airmen Selection Centre and also will be available at Indian Air Force website.
