Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) issued notification inviting applications from the permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir State for recruitment to 44 posts of Assistant Engineer (Electric) in Power Development Department. Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering or AMIE Section (A&B) India in the appropriate branch of Engineering.
Age Limit: (as on 1 January 2013)
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 37 years
Upper age limit for PH candidates is 39 years, for In Service and RBA / SC / ST / ALC / SLC category candidates is 40 years and for Ex-serviceman is 48 years
Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.
If the number of candidates who have applied for the post to be filled by Direct recruitment, on the basis of interview, is large and it is not convenient, or possible, for the Commission to interview all the candidates, the Commission may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview, to a reasonable limit by:
a) Short listing through a written Screening Test.
b) Short listing by other methods
(i) basis of Percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination; and
(ii) Higher qualification, if any, in the relevant subject.
A Screening Test, if required, for short-listing candidates shall tentatively be held on 17 November 2013.
The place of Interview/centre for screening test once chosen by the candidate shall not be changed.
Final Selection of the candidates is subject to their clearing the medical examination.
Appointment order to the selected candidates will be issued by the Government in accordance with the availability of vacancies.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should send / deliver their completely filled in application form, along with the photocopy of the filled OMR Application Form and attested copies of the required documents / certificates in the envelope provided by the Commission along with the Application Form, to ‘The Secretary, J & K Public Service Commission, Resham ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu / Polo Ground Srinagar’ so as to reach the concerned office by or on 13 September 2013.
How to Obtain Application Forms: Application Forms can be obtained from the Office of the J & K Public Service Commission, Polo Ground, Srinagar / Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu by paying Rs. 500 (General Category candidates) / Rs. 250 (Category candidates) in cash / through a crossed DD drawn from J&K Bank only, at the counters of J&K Bank opened in the offices of J&K Public Service Commission at Polo Ground, Srinagar / Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu from 0930 hours to 1500 hours on all working days.
The amount does not include processing charges of Rs. 10 to be borne by all the candidates.
