Figure of Question

Sol. If the determinant of a matrix is positive then it can be represented as square of a matrix.
The determinant value of matrix in option (B) & (D) are positive but the determinant value of matrix in option (A) & (C) are negative.
Therefore, (B) & (D) can be represented as square of a matrix but (A) & (C) can’t.
Hence, the correct options are (A) and (C).

Q. If a chord, which is not a tangent, of the parabola y2 = 16x has the equation 2x + y = p, and midpoint (h, k), then which of the following is(are) possible value(s) of p, h and k ?

(A) p = 2, h = 3, k = –4

(B) p = 5, h = 4, k = –3
