Jun 30, 2014 17:05 IST

JEE MAIN 2014: AIR Declaration on July 7:
The Central Board of Secondary Education will be declaring the All India ranks (AIRs) secured by candidates in joint entrance exam (JEE) Main on July 7, 2014 despite the extension of the deadline for confirmation of XII marks from June 27th to June 30. The JEE Main 2014 rank cards will be available to candidates only after July 7, 2014.
AIR of a candidate is prepared on the basis of their JEE Main 2014 score (which would be given 60% weightage) as well as the normalised score which wiil be based on the marks obtained in Class 12th or in equivalent qualifying exam (which would be given 40% weightage).
The rank card issued for JEE Main 2014 would contain a candidate’s All India Rank, State Rank as well as Category Rank. This rank card would contain the total marks scored by a candidate as well as the marks scored by the candidate in individual subjects/papers.
Out of all the ranks mentioned, only AIR is used by the joint Admission Board for the admissions into the graduate engineering ccourses of various NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs), State Funded Institutions (SFIs) as well as other engineering colleges and Universities. The state rank and category rank is the accurate indicative factor to know chances of admission in colleges on basis of state quota and category seats.

NOTE: No scorecard for JEE Main would be mailed to candidates and they will need to download their rank/score card from the official website of JEE Main 2014.
