JEE Main is the largest engineering entrance exam for undergraduate engineering courses (B. Tech.). While preparing for the exam a candidate can’t ignore a single point for scoring better. In JEE Main there are two papers i.e., Paper – 1 for B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 for B. Arch aspirants. JEE Main Paper – 1 is of 3 hours having three subjects i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject has 30 questions in total. On the basis of number of questions in a certain year, we can identify the important topics. These topics are very important for a candidate in following ways:
1. Important topics are assigned with more number of questions:
Important topics from JEE Main point of view identifies the trend of previous year papers. Importance of a topic is decided on the basis of number of questions asked in previous year papers from that topic. More the number of questions asked from a topic more will be the importance of the topic. Students appearing for JEE Main 2018 should know that the questions in a paper are not distributed equally among all the topics of a particular subject. Some topics carry more questions, while others don’t. Student must devote more time to such important topics. For identifying such topics candidates must gone through the previous year analysis of JEE Main & JEE Advanced.
2. Important topics will help a student to score well in JEE Main:
Another reason to focus on the important topic is that practicing questions from these topics will help a candidate to score well in the JEE Main & JEE Advanced exam. These topics carry more number of questions and if a candidate is able to attempt all the questions correctly from these topics then he definitely will be able to score more than others which will ultimately lead you towards getting a good score. Each and every candidate needs to practice as much as he/she can. That will help them in strengthening all important concepts. But one thing every candidate must keep in mind and i.e. while practicing for the important topics a candidate should never ignore other topics so a candidate must cover the whole syllabus while focusing on the important topics.
3. Important topics will lead to a better understanding of the subject:
From the following table of important topics, it is clear that in JEE Main the basic topics are considered as the important topics. Generally the important topics of JEE Main are the foundation of next topic and chapters. Deep study of these topics will benefit the candidates in JEE Main as well as in JEE Advanced. Moreover while revising for any of these exams; the candidates will be in a better condition than others as the deep study of these topics will help the candidates in revising the whole syllabus quickly. Thus, focusing more on important topics will serve dual-purpose for a candidate.
The above analysis is based on the analysis of previous two year question papers of JEE Main. Important topics may help a candidate in many ways but a candidate must prepare the complete syllabus as it will help him in scoring better and gaining a confidence in the exam.
