JKPSC declared results for J&K Combined Competitive (Prelims) Exam, 2012

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) released the list of candidates who have qualified for admission to the Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive (Mains) 2012. For more information, read ahead.

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) released the list of candidates who have qualified for admission to the Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive (Mains) 2012 on the basis of their performance in the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2012 held by the Commission on 5 August 2012.

Of the 17,696 candidates, who enrolled for the Preliminary Examination, only 14,464 candidates appeared for it. The Commission decided to call the total number of vacancies and so, a total of 1,625 candidates, in roll order, have been declared to have qualified for the Main Examination.

The cut-off for the preliminary examination was at 306.933.

The candidature of candidates who have been declared qualified for admission to Main Examination is provisional and subject to determination of final eligibility at the time of submission of Application Forms for Main Examination.

The result has been declared as per sub rule (2) of Rule 8 of Jammu  and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 2008 as amended from time to time and the law laid down including the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission versus Baloji Badhavath & Others (Civil Appeal No.2244 of 2009) for the purpose of admitting the candidates for appearing in the Main Examination.

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission is a body created by the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State. The Commission advises the state Government on all matters relating to State Civil Service.

Till the end 1954 there was no formal recruiting agency in Jammu and Kashmir. A Public Service Recruitment Board was set up on December 31, 1954. However, after the "Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State" came into force on 26th of January 1957, "Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission" was established, under section 128 of the Constitution of J&K, on September 2, 1957.
