Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission issued notification announcing Registration open for Jammu & Kashmir Statistical-Cum-Evaluation Service Competitive Examination, 2013 for direct recruitment to 28 posts of Assistant Director (Statistics). Interested candidates should send their applications till 11 October 2013.

Pay scale: Rs. 9300 - 34800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4800
Eligibility: Candidate must be a permanent resident of the J&K State
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Economics / Statistics / Commerce / Mathematics / M.Sc. of Indian Statistical Institute / Master of Computer Applications Degree.
Age limit: (as on 1 January 2013):
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 37 years
(Upper age limit for Physically Handicapped candidates is 39 years, for RBA / SC / ST / ALC / SLC candidates and Candidates already in Govt. Service is 40 years and for Ex-serviceman is 48 years.)
Mode of Recruitment: Jammu & Kashmir Statistical-Cum-Evaluation Service Competitive Examination, 2013 comprising of a Main written examination, followed by Interview, for those qualifying the written exam.
If the Commission feels that the number of applications received for admission is large, it may direct the candidates to appear in Preliminary Objective Type Test for short-listing the candidates for Main Examination.
Examination Centers: The Examination will be held at different centers located in Jammu and Srinagar cities. The allotment of centers will be done at the sole discretion of the Commission.
If a candidate does not receive the Admit Card or any other communication regarding his candidature for the examination 10 days before the examination, then he / she should contact the Commission’s office at Polo Ground, Srinagar / Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu for obtaining a duplicate copy of Admit Card.
All correspondence with the Commission should, invariably, contain:
(a) Name and year of the examination;
(b) Application Form number;
(c) Full name of the candidate (in Block letters); and
(d) Complete postal address as given in the Application Form.
How to obtain application form: The electronically scan-able Application Form, along with instructions to fill it, Acknowledgement Card and an Envelope for submitting the Application Form, can be obtained from the J & K Bank branches located in the offices of the J & K Public Service Commission at Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu / Polo Ground, Srinagar by making cash payment of Rs. 500 (excluding processing charges of Rs.10) for OM candidates / Rs. 250 (excluding processing charges of Rs. 10) for reserved category candidates.
How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates should send their duly filled in electronically scan-able Application forms along-with its Photostat copy tagged with attested photocopies of required documents / certificates / testimonials in the special envelope supplied for the purpose, by registered post to ‘The Secretary, J & K Public Service Commission, Polo Ground, Srinagar’ / ‘The Secretary, J & K Public Service Commission, Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu’, so as to reach the concerned authority on or before the last date notified for the purpose.
The Application Form (Original copy & Photostat copy), along with the documents / testimonials can also be submitted personally at the Commission’s Office in Jammu / Srinagar between 1000 hours and 1600 hours on all working days till the prescribed last date.
NOTE: Copies of documents / testimonials should be attached with the Photostat copy of the Application Form.
The Form, developed by the Commission for the Statistical-cum -Evaluation Service Competitive Examination, will be processed on computerized machines.
