Joint CSIR UGC NET Exam (December) 2016: Last date extended, Details at csirhrdg.res.in

    Here’s the latest update regarding Joint CSIR UGC NET Exam 2016 (December). Candidates who have missed the chance of applying for the exam can now apply till 17 September 2016. However the last date for deposit of application fee will be 16 September.

    After submitting the application online, candidates are required to send hardcopy of the same to the examination unit before 23 September 2016. Candidates belonging to remote areas can send it within 30 September 2016.

    NET exam is scheduled to be held on 18 December 2016.

    Details of CSIR UGC NET Exam

    CSIR will conduct the Joint CSIR UGC test for awarding Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for Lecturership (NET).

    Two separate merit lists, one comprising the candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF - NET) and the second, of those candidates qualifying the Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET), will be made on the basis of their performance in the above Test.

    NET Exam will comprise of questions related to Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences

    The final result of this Single MCQ test may be declared sometime in the month of March/April 2017 and the validity period to avail the fellowship will be 2 years from effective date of fellowship as indicated in NET certificate.

    The examination will be held at 27 centres across the country: Bangalore, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jorhat, Karaikudi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pilani, Pune, Raipur, Roorkee, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Varanasi.

    Who can apply for Joint CSIR UGC NET Exam?

    Candidates with minimum educational qualification of M. Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/ BE/ BTech/ BPharma/MBBS (at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates (Central list only as provided in National Commission for Backward Classes website www.ncbc.nic.in) and 50% for SC/ST, physically and Visually Handicapped candidates).

    For JRF the maximum age limit is 28 years and for LS (NET) there is no upper age limit.

    Exam Scheme of CSIR UGC NET 2016

    Syllabus for CSIR UGC NET Exam 2016

    The entire question paper will comprise of three parts. Given below is the detailed syllabus for CSIR UGC NET Exam 2016:

    Part A: This part shall contain questions pertaining to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles etc.

    Part B: This part shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus.

    Part C: This part shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem.

    How to Apply for CSIR UGC NET (December) Exam 2016?

    Interested and eligible candidates are required to send their application online at (csirhrdg.res.in). In order to apply Online the candidates are required to download Bank challan Performa from the above website and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches throughout the country or through NEFT.

    Candidates should note that after successfully submitting application online are required to take print out of the Application Form, paste his/her recent black & white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach caste certificate, if applicable and send along with CSIR marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan in an envelope super scribed with Subject Code, Centre Code & Medium Code to The Deputy Secretary (Exam), Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012.
