North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was set up in 1973 in suburb of Shillong. The University invited application for the post of JRF in North Eastern Council, GoI funded research project sanctioned to Dr SR Joshi as Principal Investigator in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics. The title of the project is “Assessment and conservation of microbial biodiversity in Sacred Groves with special reference to plant growth promoting Bacillus and related genera as influenced by environmental degradation”
