The Madras Medical College (MMC) is soon to partnership with the Hull York University of United Kingdom. At the Institute of Community Medicine in Madras Medical College, a workshop on 6 December was held in which representatives of both the institutes were present.
Director and MMC Dean of Medical Education, Dr. V Kanagasabai attended the workshop along with other senior officials from the state Directorate of Public Health, lecturers and professors from city medical colleges and students.
During the inauguration, Dr Kanagasabai spoke about the Tamil Nadu’saccomplishments in healthcare. He also spoke of the further collaborations with foreign universities, to make it a model state; he said
Professor of Public Health Medicine at Hull York Medical School, Ian Watt, talked about the current health research activities being conducted by them at MMC institute and also about the plans of further extensionafter collaborating with India.
MoU, is to be signed soon by both universities stating about the help the collaboration will offer, the exchange of ideas and useful programmes for students from both countries, informed the senior officials during the workshop.
