Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda on 15 February 2013 announced written result for PhD Entrance Test 2013 (PET). The test was conducted on 10 February 2013 in 41 subjects for PhD within a period of two years from the date of declaration of the result in Gujarat.

A total of 632 candidates appeared for PhD in Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat via PhD Entrance Test 2013. The test was conducted on 10 February 2013 for a total of 41 subjects including Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Education and Commerce subjects. Only 58 candidates qualified the test and will be called for Personality Test (Part C) that will be held by the concerned Department/ Faculty/ Institute.
The structure of examination comprised of three Parts –A, B & C, of which the first two were written examinations via two papers in objective mode with MCQs. 25% marks were deducted for each wrong answer in both papers. Candidates qualifying at the rate of 35% (59.5 marks) for SC/ ST category and 40% (68 marks) for General and OBC category are called for Personality Test.
The final selection for PhD coursework will be made on merit basis by considering the following weightage of marks; Part A- 35%, Part B- 50% and Part C- 15%.
The minimum qualification to take this test was Master’s degree or equivalent qualification with 50% marks or equivalent grade points from a recognized University/ Institutions. However, candidates who had qualified in UGC-CSIR/NET/SET/GATE /DBT/ICMR/JRF and also possess M Phil degree were exempted from appearing in the examination.
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, situated in Gujarat initiated PhD Entrance Test PET Examination from 2010 onwards and since then four examinations have been conducted.
