Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has suggested the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to include a chapter on iconic figures such as Maharana Pratap in school textbooks. The focus would be to emphasize on their contribution towards the nation and how they manage to change the nation.
He was addressing a gathering in Pratapgarh, and praised the Rajasthan Government that they included the chapter of Maharana Pratap and his heroic deeds. He seemed to be very happy with the concept and had proposed even to include the same in the CBSE syllabus as well. This would make the students know more about the heroic deeds of the brave soul. He on his address let people know about the significant contribution that Pratap did to make this nation a better place to live and how he became a symbol of sacrifice. He further mentioned that a team with Nationalist ideology should guide in the process of publishing the books. He was keen on making people understand the importance of the topic and its immediacy to get included in CBSE books.
Addressing the audience Singh reminded them that how Maharana Pratap earned the respect and love of a rich man like Bhamashah, who supported and provided an army to fight along with them on his side. He also mentioned that India is the only country where history that are written by foreign historians are taught in textbooks at various schools. The management board has already been asked to pass the proposal, so that the new syllabus and textbooks can get prepared.
