University of Pune invites application from eligible candidates for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) 2013. The last date to apply online is 31 December 2012

University of Pune as a State Agency will conduct Maharashtra SET on 17 February 2013 for the State of Maharashtra and Goa to determine eligibility for Lectureship. It invites application from eligible candidates for the test which will be conducted in 30 subjects approved by UGC at 13 Centres.

Important Dates for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2012

  • Opening date for online registration: 11 December 2012 from 11 am
  • Closing date for online registration: 31 December 2012 till 6 pm
  • Closing date for submitting hardcopy of Online application: 8 January 2013 till 6 pm
  • Date for dispatch of Admit Cards (tentative): 7 February 2013
  • Date of Maharashtra SET: 17 February 2013

Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2012

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH) (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR PG Diploma from an institute recognised by UGC
  • Final year candidates can also apply
  • Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for SET

Selection procedure for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2012: The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held in two separate sessions as under:

Paper- I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper- II & III shall consist of Objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

There will be no negative marking. Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.

Test Centres for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2012: The Test will be held at 13 centres namely Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Nasik, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur, Solapur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Panaji (Goa).

How to Apply for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2012: The applicant should fill up the online application form according to his/her relevant category for which he/she is eligible.

Application Fee: The application fee to be paid by SC/ST/ PH/ VH Candidate is Rs 450, and fee for General category candidate is Rs 550. The fee should be paid via Challan at any branch of HDFC Bank or Bank of Maharashtra.

Candidates need to send hard copy of the application form, original SET UNIT Copy of Bank Challan along with other prescribed documents mentioned in notification, to the respective centres by hand or by post in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm.
