Medicine is one of the most sought after career options in India. India is a country which is obsessed with Doctors; it is obsessed with career in medicine and / or medical. Eligibility for Medical Studies

To pursue medical studies in India, you need to opt for Science Stream at your high school level. In addition to this, you also need to pick Biology, Physics and Chemistry as your key subjects in Class 11th and Class 12th.

Medical Entrance Exams in India

Admission to different medical colleges in India is granted on the basis of a students’ performance in the entrance exam i.e. NEET or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The NEET entrance exam is conducted in two versions or format i.e. NEET UG / Under Graduate and NEET PG i.e. Post Graduate. Every year, around 7 lakh medicine aspirants appear for the NEET UG exam vying to fill 52,000 seats offered at different medical colleges across India.

What after MBBS?

After completing your MBBS education which is about 5 to 5 and half years, you need to choose a specialization and pursue a masters’ degree programme in the selected field.  You have to join athe residency programs in order to graduate and work as a medical practitioner in a specified field. For example, you can become a doctor of medicine which is a specialisation which also called as MD, and then you can become a master of surgeon which is called as MS and again is a specialization.Specialisation takes about three years to complete and off course to enter into specialisation as well you need to sit for another entrance exam, which is called as NEET post-graduation exam.

What after Medical Specialization?

Once you complete masters’ degree or the specialisation, you have the option to go for super specialisation which takes about two more years to complete you have adoption of pursuing doctor of medicine which is a super specialisation DM or master of chirurgical which is MCH.

Branches of Medical Specialization

There are various branches of specialisation that one can pursue under MD or MS. For example, under MD one can pursue neurology, pathology, endocrinology, radiology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology amongst many more. When we talk about master of surgery you can pursue plastic surgery, paediatric surgery, cardiac surgery, ENT, gynaecology amongst many more.

How much can you earn?

There is a reason our nation is obsessed with becoming a doctor. Not only this profession is very satisfying spiritually and on humanistic grounds but also it is very financially rewarding. Initially, when the doctors completes their post graduation & super specialised education they can either attach themselves to a private hospital and do a private practice or they could teach in a medical college as  a lecturer to gain more experience.  In the teaching profession the doctors can earn anywhere between 30,000 to 50,000 rupees/month.

Whereas, the master of surgeon that is anybody who is completed MS will be definitely earning more. Once you acquired enough experience in the field you definitely earn more in the private and government practice.
