This is the third time in a row; a woman has topped the UPSC IAS Exam, one of the coveted exams of the country result of which declared on 31st may 2017 by Union Public Service Commission. Andhra Pradesh’s Ira Singhal had topped the examination in the 2014 Civil Services while Tina Dabi from Delhi had topped the 2015 Civil Services examination.
This year Karnataka's Nandini KR has topped the examination followed by Anmol Sher Singh Bedi and Gopalakrishna Ronanki has ranked second and third rank respectively. The result of 1099 candidates has been declared while the result of 61 candidates has been declared provisionally.
Here are the Top three toppers of CSE 2016
1. Nandini K R
In 2014 edition of civil services exam, Nandini had cleared the IAS Exam but she managed to get 849th rank. While expressing her jubilation she said, "I always wanted to be an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer”.
Nandini is currently on probation as a Revenue Service (IRS) officer hails from Kolar (known for gold mining) in Karnataka, cracked the exam in her fourth attempt. She told PTI that "It is like a dream come true. I always wanted to be an IAS officer”.
She is a civil engineering graduate from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru and she has strong willingness to work in education sector An Indian.
2. Anmol Sher Singh Bedi
Anmol Sher Singh Bedi, a 23 year old son of an educator has secured the second rank in CSE 2016. He is an engineering graduate in computer science from BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan.
Anmol hails from Amritsar his father Dr Sarabjit Singh Bedi is an educationist and mother, Jassi Bedi is working with an NGO. He gives credit of his success to his family, especially his sister Gursimran Kaur Bedi, for his astounding performance.
Anmol studied around eight hours a day and never stick to any particular strategy. His interest of services in UPSC Civil Services is Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
3. Gopalakrishna Ronanki
Gopalakrishna Ronanki, a son of a farmer from a remote village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh has secured the 3rd rank in UPSC CSE 2016.
30 years old, Gopalakrishna Ronaki is a son of Ronanki Appa Rao, a farmer from Parasamba village in Palasa block of Andhara Pradesh.
Ronanki has graduated in pharmacy from Vizag and did his MBA from Niper, Mohali. He did his schooling in Telugu-medium and appeared for the UPSC interview in Telugu. His optional subject in IAS Mains was Telugu literature.
