NIRD invites applications for Direct recruitment to 5 faculty positions. Interested candidates should send their applications till 17 June 2013.

Total Vacancies: 5 posts

 

I) Post Name: Professor

No of Posts: 1 post

Pay Scale: Rs.37400-67000 with AGP Rs.10000

 

Concerned Departments / Areas: Wage Employment and Poverty Alleviation.

 

Qualifications: PG Degree in Economics with specialisation in Labour Economics or M.Sc.(Statistics) with Econometrics and Ph.D. in Labour Market or Rural Employment /related issues.

 

Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in teaching in a recognized University or training and/or research in any recognized Institution of which at least 5 years should be at the level equivalent to that of the Reader of a University or equivalent.

 

Desirable: Independent research / field experience with published books and research papers in the relevant field;

Experience in conducting training and research in rural development and related issues

 

2. Post Name: Associate Professor

No of Posts: 1 post

Pay Scale: Rs.37400-67000 with AGP Rs.9000

 

Concerned Departments / Areas: Panchayati Raj / Local Governance.

 

Qualifications: PG Degree in Political Science / Public Administration / Public Policy / Economics / Local Governance with Ph.D. in the relevant area.

 

Experience: At least 7 years experience in teaching in a recognized University or training and / or research in any recognized Institution / Consultancy in the relevant discipline / subject, of which minimum 5 years should be at a

level of Lecturer in the University or equivalent.

 

Desirable: Independent research experience / published books / papers based on original work, etc., in the area of Panchayati Raj; Candidate should have made remarkable contribution in the area of scholarship, evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curriculum.

 

3. Post Name: Assistant Professors

No of Posts: 3 posts

Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39000 with AGP Rs.6000

iv) Self Employment/ Wage Employment / Rural Enterprise / Rural Livelihoods

viii) Quantitative Techniques

ix) Media Studies / Mass Communication

x) Distance Education xi) ICT /Geo-information Application in Rural Development

 

Qualifications: PG Degree with Ph.D. in relevant discipline in Social / Physical Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Computer Sciences / Statistics / Management OR  Master’s degree in any of the Technical disciplines with Ph.D.

OR M.Tech. degree in any of the Engineering discipline.

 

Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a recognised University or training and / or research in an Institution or relevant field experience in any Engineering/ Technological area relevant to Rural Development;

 

Desirable: Independent research experience with published books and research papers in the relevant field.

 

Age: No age limit

 

Age of Superannuation: 60 years at NIRD.

(In deserving cases, Professors may be considered for re-employment beyond 60 years, i.e. upto 62 years, subject to approval of the competent authority.

 

Remuneration: UGC’s VI Pay Commission Scales of Pay.

 

Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.

 

Selected candidates are likely to be posted anywhere in India including NIRD Regional Centres at Guwahati, Patna and Jaipur etc., as per the requirements of the Institute.
