NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET)

About the Institute:
The various National Institutes of Technology are premier Technical Institutions of National repute and have a Deemed University status, fully funded by the Government of India.
NIMCET is a national level entrance test and the scores are accepted by NIT Trichy, Jamshedpur and all other NITs.
Purpose: To shortlist students for their institute
Cost of form: Rs 1000
Eligibility Criteria: A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Business Mathematics (at least one subject should have also been studied by the candidate in class 12) with a minimum aggregate of 60% in Class 12 and Graduation.
Date of Examination: 15 May 2011
Deadline for Application submission: 11 April 2011
Selection Process: Each candidate is supposed to take an entrance test
Duration of Paper: 2 hours
Number of Questions: 120, Mathematics (40), Computer Awareness (10), Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning (55), General English (15)
Type of Questions: MCQs with 4 choices each
Any Negative Marking? Yes, +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer.
Based on the test, NIT publishes names of the list of candidates, for counseling and seat allotment according to the rank. The list is declared on the websites of the participating NITs offering MCA.
