NEET Exam 2019: Important tips and topics to prepare for the test on 20 May

Check important tips and topics to make preparations for NEET 2019 that will be conducted on 20 May, 2019 for the candidates who missed the exam in Karnataka and Odisha.

    For students from Karnataka who missed their NEET 2019 examination due to train delay and those from Odisha for whom the examination was postponed because of the cyclone, National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the rescheduled date of examination. NTA will conduct the NEET 2019 for all such students on May 20, 2019 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Students must prepare hard to take the most benefit of this extra time to increase their score in the exam. The NEET UG entrance exam will be conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in India in Medical and Dental colleges.

    Question paper in NEET Exam 2019 will be of 3 hours duration and will contain 180 multiple choice questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology section. 

    • The Biology section will have a total of 90 questions with 45 questions from Botany and 45 questions from Zoology.
    • There will be total 180 questions out of which 45 each will be from Zoology and Botany, and 45 each will be from Physics and Chemistry.
    • In Physics section, students will have to solve 45 questions.
    • Chemistry section will also have 45 questions.
    • Marking Scheme of NEET 2019 will be as follows:

    +4 marks for each correct answer

    -1 mark for each wrong answer

    0 mark for each unattempted question

    • Maximum Marks = 720

    3. Practice previous year papers and mock tests

    Practicing with the previous year papers and mock tests will not only help to polish your skills but also help in improving your accuracy and speed. This way you may increase your confidence to take the real exam in a more managed and appropriate way. Try to solve as many papers as possible.

    4. Know your strengths and weaknesses

    At this time, students should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. They should know which sections/topics they know quite well and in which areas they need to improve. So, in last moment, work on your weak areas. On the exam day, try to attempt easy questions first, so that you would have enough time to solve the tougher ones.

    5. Stray calm and relax

    Don't let the exam stress hamper your preparations and health. Get proper sleep and eat healthy food to be fit. To give your best in the exam, it is very important that you stay both physically and mentally strong while writing the exam. Take proper rest and sleep a day before the exam.
