Students who are aspiring to apply for the NEET PG entrance examination are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying as it is mandatory for them to satisfy the eligibility criteria or else they will not be considered for admission by the authorities. This article is regarding the eligibility criteria of NEET PG 2019 examinations and hence provides all the required details related to the same.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2019
The basic Criteria for NEET PG are given below:
- MBBS degree
As per the NEET PG 2019 eligibility criteria, aspirants must possess MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized as per the provisions under Indian Medical Council 1956
- Registration Certificate
Candidates must possess the permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC). As mentioned in the NEET PG eligibility conditions 2019, candidates must carry the MCI/SMC registration certificate at the NEET PG exam centre on the day of examination
- Internship
In accordance with NEET PG eligibility criteria 2019, applicants should have completed or likely to complete 12 months mandatory rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2019
Eligibility Criteria for 50% All India Quota seats
As per the eligibility criteria of NEET PG 2019, candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for 50% All India Quota seats. These states started participating in 50% AIQ scheme.
Candidates belonging from Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to participate for NEET PG 50% All India Quota seats.
However, students who were nominated by the Government of India under central pool seats for MBBS course in medical colleges in J&K are considered eligible for admission to All India 15% Quota seats, as per the guidelines in NEET PG eligibility criteria. Such aspirants must submit an affidavit declaring that they were nominated by the Government of India for MBBS seats in the state of J&K. The filled in affidavit must be sent to the following address along with the printout of acknowledgement of NEET PG application form 2019 latest by November 30, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Medical Graduates
As per the new eligibility conditions of NEET PG, it is not mandatory for foreign nationals to possess the provisional MCI registration certificate at the time of NEET PG examination.
The foreign nationals can write the exams without MCI registration certificate. The temporary registration will be issued with a condition that such aspirants must be duly registered with the competent registering authority of their own country.
NEET PG Reservation Criteria
The NEET PG 2019 reservation defines the limits on the allocation of seats to the reserved and non- reserved category candidates. The candidates of reserved category and non- reserved category must go through the NEET PG 2019 reservation criteria to get a clear understanding of the seat distribution among the two.
Eligibility for Armed Forces, Medical Service Institutions
The candidates who wish for a seat in MD/MS/PG Diploma seats (AFMS) shall tick the option (Institutions of Armed Medical Services) at the time of filling the application form. The candidates have to go through the separate NEET PG Registration Process for AFMC. The AFMC online registration website is www.afmcdg1.gov.in.
There is no reservation granted to SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidates in Armed Forces Institutions conducting Post Graduate Courses.
