In order to generate top-class teachers and export them across the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, introduced a five-year training course after schooling for the candidates who are willing to join teaching as their profession. He pitched the suggestion strongly and focused on producing large number of qualified teachers from the country as the world is looking at India with greater expectations for which the country needs to get it prepared.
Speaking at a function organized at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where he laid the foundation stone for an intra-university centre for teacher’s education, Modi said, “India has a tremendous responsibility towards the world in the 21st century, which has been called the century of knowledge.”
A total of 900 crore scheme has also been launched named as “Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching”. The founder of BHU, Malaviya is also getting posthumous Bharat Ratna this year. The Prime Minister pointed out that there huge dearth in the country of able people in the field of science, technology, innovation and invention and that needs to be filled by the utmost talents available in the country which largely remained untapped throughout these years.
