NIRF Ranking 2019 were released by the MHRD yesterday. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD)'s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 was officially unveiled by President Ramnath Kovind in a function held at Vigyaan Bhavan. As part of the NIRF Ranking 2019, MHRD released the list of top higher education institutes in different categories i.e. Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.
IIT Madras – the premier technology school, emerged as the top higher education institute overall, which other IITs dominated categories such as engineering, architecture. In terms of colleges, Delhi University’s Miranda House was adjudged as the best college of the country while St. Stephen's College stood fourth on the Rank List. MHRD had evaluated over 4000 institutes to compile the final list of NIRF Ranking 2019. All the higher education institutes were judged on five key parameters i.e.

- GO – Graduation Outcomes
- OI – Outreach and Inclusivity

NIRF Ranking 2019 – Key Highlights

- Best Higher Education Institute Overall: IIT Madras
- Best Higher Education University: IISc, Bengaluru
- Best Higher Education College: Miranda House, University of Delhi
- Best Engineering Institute in India: IIT Madras
- Best Law School / College in India: National Law School of India University, Bangalore
- Best Architecture Institute in India: IIT Kharagpur
- Best Medical College / Institute in India: AIIMS Delhi

NIRF India Ranking 2019: Top 10 in Overall Category
MHRD released the list of top higher education institutes overall, irrespective of their structure, stream or the setup-up. The list was dominated by IITs from across India with IIT Madras topping the List. Among universities, IISc, Bengaluru secured the 2nd spot while JNU secured 7th position and BHU secured the 10th spot on the list.

NIRF India Ranking 2019: Top 10 Engineering Institutes
NIRF India Ranking 2019 for Engineering was one of the most eagerly awaited list at the event. As expected, the list was completed dominated by IITs with IIT Madras, Delhi and Bombay securing the first three spots. The last two position in the top 10 engineering colleges as per NIRF Ranking 2019 was secured by two non-IIT institutes from South India i.e. Anna University, Chennai securing 9th position and NIT, Trichy at 10th.
