North Eastern Police Academy, Meghalaya notifies 7 Constable and one Library & Information Assistant

    North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA), Meghalaya (erstwhile the Regional Police Training College), an establishment under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is engaged in shaping Police Officers of North Eastern States for equitable, effective and sensitive policing. The Academy is situated in Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya.  The academy issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 7 posts of Constables in various departments / cadres and one post of Library & Information Assistant.

    Candidates interested in applying for the post of Library & Information Assistant should send their applications within 60 days of publication of notification in the Employment News. Those interested in the Constable vacancies will be required to participate in the recruitment process to be held at NEPA, Meghalaya on 20 November 2013

    Qualifications: Matriculation

    Age limit: (as on 20 November 2013)

    Minimum: 18 years

    Maximum: 27 years

    (Upper age limit relax-able up to 3 years for OBC candidates and up to 5 years for SC candidates)

    Name of the post: Constable (Motor Transport)

    No of posts: 1 posts

    Pay Scale: PB -1 of Rs. 5200 - 20000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1800

    Qualifications: Matriculation or equivalent possessing valid driving license for light or heavy vehicles issued by the Transport Authority. Candidate must have minimum 3 years of driving experience with fair knowledge of vehicle maintenance. 

    Age limit: (as on 20 November 2013)

    Minimum: 18 years

    Maximum: 27 years

    (Upper age limit relax-able up to the age of 32 years for reserved category candidates)

    Name of the post: Constable (Motor Transport Mechanic)

    Pay Scale: PB -1 of Rs. 5200 - 20000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1800

    Qualifications: Matriculation or equivalent with Diploma in Motor Mechanism.  Candidate must possess a valid driving license for light or medium or heavy vehicles issued by the Transport Authority. Candidate must have minimum 2 years experience in vehicles repairs in some established workshop and should qualify the required trade test. 

    Age limit: (as on 20 November 2013)

    Minimum: 18 years

    Maximum: 27 years

    Name of the post: Library & Information Assistant.

    No of posts: 1 post

    Pay Scale:  PB – 2 of Rs. 9300 – 34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200

    Qualifications: Graduate with Bachelor of Library Science (B. Lib.) and minimum 2 years library experience in any recognized institution.

    Age limit: Not exceeding 28 years (as on 60 days after publication of advertisement in Newspaper)

    Physical Standards: (for Constable General Duty and Constable Motor Transport)

    (i)Height: 165 cms (minimum)

    (ii)Chest:

    (a) Unexpanded: 79 cms (minimum)

    (b) Expanded: 84 cms (minimum)

    Medical Standards: Candidate must be free from knock –knee, flat foot and any other deformities and other major illness
    Selection Procedure

    For Constable: Interested eligible candidates are required to appear for the selection test to be held at The North Eastern Police Academy, Umsaw, Umiam, Meghalaya on 20 November 2013.  Candidates are required to report at 0800 hours on 20 November 2013. They should bring with them duly filled application form, along with Original and attested copies of required certificates / documents.

    Recruitment Tests for Constable (General Duty)

    (a) Physical Efficiency Test:

    (i) run 1600 meters in Maximum time of 6 minutes

    (ii) qualify 11 feet (minimum) Long Jump in one of the 3 chances to be given;  

    (iii) qualify 3.5 feet (minimum) High Jump in one of the 3 chances to be given;  

    Written test: Test of General Knowledge, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Language (English / Hindi)

    Recruitment Tests for Constable (Motor Transport) and Constable (Motor Transport Mechanic):

    (a) Physical Efficiency Test:

    (i) run 1000 meters in Maximum time of 5 minutes

    (ii) qualify 11 feet (minimum) Long Jump in one of the 3 chances to be given;  

    (iii) qualify 3.5 feet (minimum) High Jump in one of the 3 chances to be given;  

    Driving Test (for Constable – MT only): for light, medium and heavy vehicles, as well as maintenance of vehicles.

    Trade Test (for Constable - MT Mechanic only): Candidates driving skills and knowledge of vehicle repairing will be tested.

    For Library & Information Assistant: Interested eligible candidates should send their duly filled application forms, along with attested copies of required certificates / documents and one self-addressed stamped envelope to “The Director, North Eastern Police Academy, Umsaw, Umiam, Distt- Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya, Pin- 793 123” so as to reach the concerned authority within 60 days from the publication of advertisement in Employment News.
