The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2019) was held on May 5 for which the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the answer keys very soon. More than 15 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance exam. The NEET 2019 examination was thoroughly analysed and found out to be of moderate difficulty level. Most of the questions in paper were based on NCERT textbooks. In fact, around 7-8 questions were directly taken from previous year’s paper and NCERT textbook. The pattern of examination was similar to that of last years. The questions were direct.
New dates of NEET 2019 have been announced for Karnataka and Odisha candidates
For students from Karnataka who missed their NEET 2019 examination due to train delay and those from Odisha for whom the examinations were postponed because of the cyclone, NTA has announced the rescheduled date of examination. The examination would be conducted from 10 AM to 1 PM on Monday, May 20, 2019. The admit cards for these candidates will be released on the website soon. However, the examination centres for all such candidates will remain the same.
Let’s find out what experts suggest on the expected cut-off of NEET 2019:
While analysing the pattern of NEET 2019 paper, a few important facts observed are as follows:
- In NEET 2019 paper, Physics sections had total 45 questions. Out of these 45 questions, 9 were tricky, 25 were of moderate difficulty level and 7 were easy.
- In Chemistry section, there were a total of 45 questions, out of which 7 were tricky, 20 were of medium difficulty level and 18 questions were easy. The questions related to chemical reactions were tricky.
- In Biology section, there were total 90 questions with 45 questions each from Botany and Zoology. Out of total 90 questions, 35 were easy, 45 were of medium difficulty level while 10 questions were difficult.
- Almost all the questions were asked from the NCERT book.
So, on the basis of all these facts, experts suggest that the general cut off to qualify NEET 2019 is expected to vary between 130-140.
The official cut off for NEET 2019 will be updated right after it will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The answer keys of NEET 2019 will be released by NTA very soon. All the candidates who had appeared for the examinations are suggested to check the official website, ntaneet.nic.in, on regular basis. After the release of answer key, candidates can challenge the answers by NTA after paying the non-refundable processing fee of Rs.1000/- per answer challenged.
