Eligibility Criterion

Age limit: (as on 1 January 2013)

Minimum: 21 years

Maximum: 32 years

Educational Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or Diploma from Polytechnics / Engineering schools or equivalent qualification.

Candidate must be able to read write and speak Odia and have passed middle school exam with Odia as a language subject / passed matriculation or equivalent exam with Odia as a medium of exam in non-language subject / passed in Odia as a language subject in the final exam of class VII / passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard. 

Candidates should be free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the duties.

Selection Procedure: Selection would be done through a 3-stage process involving preliminary written exam, main written exam and Interview.

The 400 marks preliminary written exam will be qualifying in nature and have 100 objective type multiple choice questions to be answered on an OMR sheet / online.

Candidates qualifying the preliminary exam will be called for main exam that will have two papers – Paper I and Paper II. While Paper – I will be of 100 marks, Paper - II will carry 200 marks.

Examination fees: Non-refundable Examination fees of Rs. 100 have to be paid either through online mode

or through offline mode using the Treasury Portal or by directly depositing in the Treasury.

Candidates willing to pay fees through online mode will have to log on to www.odishatreasury.gov.in or use the access through the link available in the OSSC portal. The payment would be made using Net Banking facility of the designated bank or through Debit card. On successful payment an e-challan will be generated from the Treasury portal.

Candidates willing to pay fees through offline mode can do so with the help of fee payment challan / depositing directly into the treasury.

The fees deposited through challan  / directly into the Treasury has to be deposited under “the Head of Account - 0051 – PSC – 104 – UPSC / SSC – Examination fees – 0047 – fees collected for conducting examinations – 02041 – Examination fees.

SC / ST / PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates can apply online through Odisha Staff Selection Commission website www.odishassc.in till 27 January 2014 (till 2359 hours).

On successful submission of the online application, a user ID and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidates should note down this ID and password for future reference.

After submitting the online application, candidates should click on ‘Print Application Form’ and take two print outs of the application form  -- one OSSC copy & the other applicant’s copy -- with unique bar code and bar code no. (or index no. of the application) on them.

Candidates should then send the OSSC copy of the online submitted application form along with the OSSC copy of the treasury challan and attested copies of all relevant certificates / documents / testimonials (together called as the Detailed Application Form or DAF) by Registered post / Speed post to “The Secretary, Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Barrack No. 1, Unit – V, Bhubaneshwar – 751 054” so as to reach the concerned authority by 5 February 2014 (1700 hours).

On the envelope carrying the DAF, candidates’ should super-scribe “Application for the post of Industries Promotion Officer.
