According to Jamia spokesperson Mukesh Ranjan, “Keeping in view the earthquake that struck the Himalayan nation and parts of India and the scale of devastation, the university administration has decided to extend the last date of submission of application forms to enable students from affected parts of Nepal and India to complete the process of submission.”
He further added in his statement, “The University had received requests from students from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal for extension of the last date for on-line submission. Many students had flagged technical problems that they confronted while making their applications. A large number of foreign students in Jamia are from Nepal.”
The university had previously set the deadline for applying in various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma/certificate programmes offered by the university for the academic session of 2015-16 to be May 1.
