    The National Institute of Technology (also known as NIT, Jamshedpur or NITJSR) has obtained 78th rank in the list of the top engineering institutes in India released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Earlier, NITJSR was known as Regional Institute of Technology. It was the first among 8 Regional Engineering Colleges and the only REC in India which was named as RIT (Regional Institute of Technology). In 2002, RIT was converted to National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur by the Government of India. The infrastructure of NIT, Jamshedpur is better than many other colleges. NIT, Jamshedpur is one of the best NITs all over India. Any students can take admission in NIT, Jamshedpur on the basis of the rank secured in JEE Main exam. This year, Earlier, JEE Main was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, but from 2018 onwards, the National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main exam twice in a year. Students must consider previous years’ opening and closing ranks while preparing priority list of engineering colleges and courses they want to join.
