University of Calcutta was established in 1857 and is recognised as a Five Star University and a Centre with Potential for Excellence by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It invites application from eligible candidates for PhD Programmes in Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

PhD Programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science: 6 seats
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have cleared MSc (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science (or similar disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned PhD Committee).
Note: Candidates who have already qualified in NET/GATE/SLET or already have an MPhil degree would be exempted from the RET examination. Such candidates will be allowed to directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview.
The candidates will be selected on the basis of Research Eligibility Test (RET) and interview by the university. The written test will be of 50 marks & will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and will have questions from MSc (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science.
The interview in the form of seminar of 10 minutes duration is to be given on work plan for each candidate.
Application Fee and Mode of Payment
Candidates are requested to deposit application fee of Rs100 either by cash or DD through duly filled in C.U. Challan, endorsed by the Head of the Department at University’s cash counters.
How to Apply
Candidates are required to submit duly filled in application form along with a challan, against the payment, is to be endorsed by the Head of Department (HOD).
