RBSE Endeavors to Bring its Students in Parallel to their CBSE Counterpart

Jan 8, 2014 18:08 IST

Rajasthan State Education Department is on an uphill struggle to ensure that the students of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) would score marks at par of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students.

The issue occurred after RBSE noticed that the broad gap in between the aggregate percentages of both the boards is the reason that state boardstudents do not get hold of seat in Rajasthan’s premier colleges.

Education Minister KaliCharan Saraf, formed a 3 member boardcommitteethat will look into the matter.

He stated this issue as very serious as the students who have appeared in RBSE miss the opportunities of getting into top higher education institutes, and also lags behind in catching better job prospects due to the wide difference observed in the marks of RBSE and CBSE students, which is remarkably the predominant concern.

Notably, the Class X pass percentage in Ajmer region for CBSE was 99.22 whereas for the RBSE the pass percentage for the same stood as 64% in the academic session of 2012-13.

RBSE is also considering on introducing a Comprehensive and Continues Evaluation, following the path of CBSE.
