The committee which has approved the project is headed by Union Secretary of Higher Education Satyanarayan Mohanty. RUSA is a central-sponsored scheme which was launched back in the year 2013. The aim of RUSA was to provide funding to eligible State Higher Education Institutions to further make developments in the education system at different states. The State Government till date has received well over 126 crore under RUSA which includes the 25 crore rupees which is allotted for the development of RD Women’s College as a Women’s university. The initiative would motivate women to come forward and take up higher education after the complete their college education in the state, by shedding their inhabitations and hesitancy to migrate to other states for further higher education.
