Reading News to be Made Compulsory in Rajasthan Schools

    Implementing effective steps for enhancing the academic ambience of schools, Rajasthan Government has ordered all schools to devote five minutes, at least, for reading out newspapers in the morning assembly.

    The rule is generalized for both private and government schools.      

    Prior to this, the State Government had also made yoga, Surya Namaskar and meditation mandatory for school children. Out of the earmarked 20 minutes of morning assembly, 05 minutes is to be spent for news reading, another 05 minutes for prayers, National Anthem and National Song, Pledge taking and 10 minutes for Yoga, Surya Namaskar and meditation.

    This initiative would not only help in improvising the academic environment, but will also help in prevailing spiritual aura in the school premises.
