As part of the operation clean initiative of the education department of Bihar, the Bihar School Examination Board governing body has approved various proposals that can further streamline their functioning and enhance effectiveness. Out of the proposals, the most important proposal to which the board has assented is, setting up of model examination centres and regional centres at all the nine divisional commissionaries of the state.
According to Anand Kishore, the Chairman of BSEB, “We will construct multi-purpose buildings in all the nine commissionaries of the state. The examination centres will be equipped with CCTV facility besides the arrangements of webcasting during the examinations. Each exam centre can accommodate 4000 to 5000 students. It will be easier to keep a tab during the examination.”
Stating further the use of these buildings, Kishore said that it would get used as evaluation centre post examination as well. No outsiders would be allowed to come inside the evaluation centre. These rooms would be used as safes for answer sheets after the examination gets completed. The decisions were taken at the governing body meet held recently.
Five storied buildings for the purpose would be created at Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya and Darbhanga. Four storied buildings would be built at Saharsa, Purnea, Saran and Munger with each of the floors having 10000 square feet of space. In one of the floors there would be the regional office of the board. It would take almost two years to get completed, work of which would begin in the month of August.
