Samsung Came Up as the Biggest Recruiter for NID Students

    At National Institute of Design (NID), 36 companies arrived to recruit its students on 7 December, the second day of the 3 day campus placements event. Total 178 job offers have already been made in the two days. Samsung R & D Institute (India) has made 18 jobs offers in total for NID students.  

    The two day placements scenario observed company Cognizant, currentlybeing the biggest recruiter in the campus providing 26 job offers

    The industry interface at NID has up till now observed participation of 76 firms on December6 till 8. However, 96 companies in total are anticipated to arrive at the premier design institute for this year’s placements.

    Companies - Philips, Vipul Industries, York Transport (Equipment) India, Design Factory India, JLT Dubai, REHWA and Aavaran came for recruitment on 7 December.

    This NID made use of advance virtual display of student’s portfolio by uploading it online, to give recruiters an opportunity to have a glance through them before hiring.

    Students from all disciplines have received job offers which conclude that area of designing has now become an essential part of all trade and businesses. Remarkablecontribution by design studios and startup firms, some by alumni of NID themselves were also present to recruit students, informed Sujitha Nair, industry relations and students' placement officer at NID.

    She also told that package of 36 lakhs was the highest pay offered in this placement session, as compared to Rs 13 lakh offered last year.
